Andrew Ng is the founder of DeepLearning.AI, co-founder of Coursera and Managing General Partner at AI Fund. He was the founding lead of the Google Brain team and Chief Scientist at Baidu, and is an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University.
His courses have introduced millions of people to machine learning and AI. At AI Dev he opens the conference with the skills map behind DeepLearning.AI’s curriculum: what to learn, in what order, to build AI applications that work in production.

Opening Keynote
Abstract
The AI Engineering Skills Map breaks the job of building with AI into four skill areas, from software engineering fundamentals to building and deploying agentic applications. This keynote walks through the map, shows where developers most often get stuck, and lays out a practical path from first prototype to production system.
Andrew also hosts a fireside chat with Yann LeCun on Day 1 and gives the closing remarks on Day 2.
What you’ll learn
The four skill areas of AI engineering and how they fit together
Where teams most often stall between prototype and production
How to pick the next skill to learn based on what you’re building
